Sports & Fitness

  • At Home

Cross-country, Football, Rounders, Track and Field activities such as Javelin or Discus, all take place within our 8 acres of grounds. Netball, Basketball, Fitness and Multi-Sports are some of our indoor activities.

Our pupils have the opportunity to take part in Sports and Fitness both within their timetabled lessons and also by taking part in after-school clubs. These clubs are seasonal. For example, we may have Strength and Conditioning in Autumn, Basketball and Netball in Winter and Rounders and Athletics in Summer. Each cohort is different and if there is enough interest in a particular sport, we try to make it happen; In previous years we have run a Table-Tennis club.

  • Away

We are the first to admit we do not have all the onsite facilities we would like, but that does not mean the pupils miss out. Nearby, we have the Perdiswell Sports Centre, this is where our pupils go for Swimming, Badminton and more.

Throughout the year our pupils compete with other schools, both locally and nationally. As part of the Independent Schools Association we compete with other independent schools but we also compete and play friendlies with the local state schools.

We aim to give our pupils the opportunity to grow and develop their skills, whilst also finding an enjoyment in Sport and Fitness.

A highlight of the year is the Christian Schools’ Trust Athletics Meet in the Summer. We are the current holders of the Small Schools Trophy, a title we have held for the past few years.

Outside of school, many of our pupils play for local teams or take part in clubs, varying from Equestrian activities to Basketball to Martial Arts.

Past pupils include Rugby Union player, Ted Hill, formerly of Worcester Warriors and current flanker for Bath.
